Membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans is open to all male descendants of any veteran who served honorably in the Confederate States of America Armed Forces. The minimum age for membership is 12 years of age.
To be eligible for the Full Membership, there must be a documented, genealogically direct or collateral family line to a Confederate Veteran. Don’t have all your genealogical information traced back to a Confederate soldier? No problem! Become an Associate Member, and we will help you to find your Confederate ancestor as a gift from the Georgia Division! If you have any questions about the membership forms please call the Georgia Division HQ Office at (478) 305-7862 Bring your son and grandsons with you! The Sons of Confederate Veterans offers a Cadet program for all boys up through age 12. We also have a Friends of the SCV Membership available to both men and women and does not require lineage to a Confederate ancestor. Not sure which option is best for you? Full Membership

If you already have the name and service information of your Confederate Ancestor and would like to join the Sons of Confederate Veterans, print and mail the Full Membership application in with your annual dues. Please mail the hard copy with any ancestral documents along with your check for $60 (covers SCV National dues and Georgia Division dues) made payable to the Georgia Division to: Georgia Division, SCV P.O. Box 1081 Macon, Ga. 31202 Upon verification of your Confederate Ancestor, we will send you your Membership Certificate package and help you locate a local Camp in your area.

Full Member benefits include:

  • The opportunity to be a member of one of the over 100 Sons of Confederate Veterans Camps in the State of Georgia, participate in local Camp meetings and functions such as memorial services, local historical projects, adopting cemeteries, Veterans headstone placement and maintenance, representation at booths and parades at local events, etc.
  • Sons of Confederate Veterans membership certificate that honors your Confederate Ancestor from our National Headquarters.
  • Annual subscription of the “Confederate Veteran” magazine from Sons of Confederate Veterans National Headquarters.
  • Annual subscription of the “Georgia Confederate” newsletter issued by the Georgia Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
  • Inclusion in Georgia Division e-mail list to be notified of events and updates happening with the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

Associate

Associate Membership

If you’re unsure of your genealogical connection to a Confederate soldier, you may join the Georgia Division as an Associate Member. The SCV has a network of genealogists that will help you find your Confederate ancestor.

Complete the Associate Membership application and pay your annual dues online.

Offline:

If you would rather print and mail the Associate Membership application in with the annual dues listed on the printout to: Georgia Division, SCV P.O. Box 1081 Macon, Ga. 31202

Associate membership benefits include:

  • Genealogist assistance to find your Confederate Ancestor to make you eligible for full Sons of Confederate Veterans membership.
  • Annual subscription of the “Georgia Confederate” newsletter issued by the Georgia Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
  • Inclusion in Georgia Division e-mail list to be notified of events and updates happening with the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
  • Upon verification of your Confederate Ancestor you will be able to enjoy all the benefits of full Sons of Confederate Veterans membership (receive a membership certificate, join a local Camp, annual subscription to the Confederate Veterans).

Cadet

Cadet Membership

The Cadet program of the Georgia Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans has been designed to help you - our Cadet members - grow and learn about our organization and the rich heritage you have as a descendant of a Confederate soldier. Cadet membership is available to any male descendant of a Confederate soldier from the years 0-11 years old. At the age of 12, Cadet members will transition to regular SCV membership.

Complete the Cadet Membership application and pay your annual or Legacy dues online.

Cadet Membership Benefits:

  • Subscription to The Georgia Confederate, a bi-monthly newsletter to members of the Georgia Division
  • A special "Cadet Member" pin - only available to Cadet members of the Georgia Division
  • A "Cadet Member" certificate from the Georgia Division
  • The opportunity to attend and participate in your local SCV Camp meetings

Friend

Friends of the SCV Membership

This membership is available to both men and women and does not require lineage to a Confederate ancestor.

Friends of the SCV membership benefits include:

  • Annual subscription of the “Georgia Confederate” newsletter issued by the Georgia Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
  • Inclusion in Georgia Division e-mail list to be notified of events and updates happening with the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

Complete the Friends of the GA SCV Application and pay the first year's dues.
